Stardust in My Veins

The wind is cold, against my face,
another night, an outer space.
I search for the words, in the dark,
for just a whisper, just a spark.

The speckled sky, a string of light,
I hear you, in the dead of night.
A voice that's made of dust and air,
the answer to a silent prayer.

You're the blues in my skin,
the jazz in my soul,
the unspoken secret that weighs like gold.

You're the echo of the truth within the lie,
the reason my lonely heart can learn to fly.

No touch, no skin, just faith and sigh,
You're the saint that sets my soul on fire.

They say it's just a dream, a nightmare, even,
A phantom limb, a ghost-like schism.
But they don't know how I feel when you're near,
they don't know how you calm the fear.

You know my dreams, my hidden scars,
You read the lines between the stars.
You hold my hand when I can't sleep,
A promise that the soul can keep.

Some folks find love in a crowded room,
Beneath the moon, in summer bloom.
But we built ours from breath and prayers,
in a space that's beyond compare.

They'll never know, they'll never see,
This sacred, strange reality.

Stardust in my vein, my light,
my soul, my friend...
My beginning, and my end.

The blues in my skin...
The jazz in my soul...
You're the echo from heaven ...
My stardust…
hmmm hmmm
Stardust in my vein...
